Mifflin County Airport · Reedsville, PA

A member-owned flying club at Mifflin County Airport.

Affordable flying, owned by the pilots who fly. MC Flying Club keeps a clean, well-maintained Cessna 150 at Reedsville, convenient to Lewistown, State College and the Juniata Valley. It's a great trainer if you're learning to fly, and an easy way to stay current if you already are.

Before you fly

Pilots who haven't flown the club airplane in the last 60 days need a one-hour check ride with a club-authorized flight instructor. Student pilots fly only with an authorized instructor, and solo flight requires that instructor's permission and supervision.

Membership

Join a club, not a rental counter.

Members own the club together and share the cost of keeping a good airplane on the field. New members are approved by a vote of the membership.

Costs: $1,500 one-time initiation (your share in the club), $100 monthly dues due on the 15th, and $95 per hour wet, with fuel, oil and maintenance included.

How the club runs

The club is governed by its bylaws. Members elect a five-person Board of Directors, and the Board appoints the President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer and Aircraft Maintenance Officer. Surplus funds stay in the club treasury. Members and prospective members can request a copy of the current bylaws through the contact form.

Scheduling

Book the airplane online.

All flights are reserved through the club's online scheduling system. Check availability and book there before you fly. Members receive a login once their membership is approved and their documents have been reviewed.

Winter preheat

When the temperature is below 30°F, the engine must be preheated for one hour before starting. The pilot with the reservation arrives an hour early and makes sure the preheater is plugged in.

Flight instruction

Learn to fly at RVL.

The club doesn't employ instructors. Authorized instructors are independent contractors, and you schedule lessons directly with them. Every instructor must be approved by the club before flying with a student or giving a check ride in the club airplane.

Want to get started? Send the club a message and we'll help you get connected with a club-approved instructor.
